One Equal World

Support equality daily

Posted on: April 3, 2012

Looking around I came across this great set of suggstions by the American Humanist Association.  Essentially it outlines good, practical ways that you can support equality for all.

Among the suggestions they gave:

Avoid offensive language: “the use of the words “gay,” “homo,” “faggot,” and other terms in pejorative form do nothing but alienate the people these words apply to and reinforce negative stereotypes against them.”

Respect people’s choices: “If she identifies as a woman, refer to her in the proper genitive form. Subtle support goes a long way.”

Take public action by going to protests and other events.

I suggest taking a look at the full list by Timothy Cichon.
